The Monthly Revenue Target I Didn’t Hit (And the PR & Sales Strategy That’s Getting Me Closer)

Katrina Owens (00:00.814)
What's up guys, welcome back to another episode of KO Your Brand, the podcast for fame ready entrepreneurs. I'm your host Katrina Owens, top personal branding and public relations expert as seen in the Daily Mail. So cool, right? Honestly, you guys, this week, I woke up to an amazing notification, which was

Congratulations, you've just been featured in the Daily Mail, which I have to say was a new one for me, honestly. Of course, this is work that I do with my clients, but for me, receiving a feature like that, it's not what I had on my bingo card for July. I had a lot of other things on my bingo card for July, many of which actually did not come true, and we're gonna get into that. But I'm just taking a minute to really soak this.

win in. Because what a win it is. mean, three years ago, none of y'all even knew who I was. I was just about to exit my corporate career, which nobody even knew. And I knew that I was ready for something more. I didn't know what that more was at the time. And now I know it's this. It's the life I'm living right now, which is being recognized for

the impact that I have, the unique strategies and methodologies that I have and train my clients on, the impact that my business and my work really has on the other business owners that I work with. So we're just celebrating that. Because honestly, you guys, July was a bit of a roller coaster of a month for me. So I think I alluded to it about a month ago in one of the episodes.

mentioning that I had set a really big goal. I don't know if I ever mentioned that it was a revenue goal, but I basically set a revenue goal for the month of July. And I was like, this is it. This is the revenue goal I've been trying to hit for like a literal year. This is the month I'm going to do it. And I'm not going to lie. Well, let's just not bury the lead. So I didn't achieve it, but I really believe that I now

Katrina Owens (02:22.33)
And you know what's really interesting is something that a client had said to me. So this client works in business coaching. She herself is like a somatic practitioner, an amazing client, but also someone that I just like trust so much with chatting all things business. And obviously you guys know by now I'm kind of an open book. So we had a conversation a couple months ago.

when I still wasn't hitting this revenue goal. Like you guys have to understand something. This revenue goal has been hanging over me for a year. And I wondered what it was going to say about me if I came on this podcast and just really admitted this, that I haven't been able to hit this. And here's the thing, mentor said to me the other week, well, she didn't actually say it to me, my mentor in the living and balance space on one of our like weekly calls,

She said, and I quote, why are you embarrassed? It's just a number. And I'm not gonna tell you what context she said it in, but that was a quote that she had said to somebody else. But I was like, yeah, why am I embarrassed? It's just a number. It doesn't say anything about me or my work ethic or my business. But the number that I'm trying to reach, I also need you guys to understand it's not a small number.

Like it's big and it's, it would be like, I almost want to say life-changing money. It wouldn't, I would still be here in my humble podcast studio, but it would be life-changing money when I eventually hit it and continue to hold it and continue to bring in that revenue every single month. That's the type of money that we're talking about here.

Because I mean, I love my business. I love it so much. cannot believe that my business affords me the opportunity to travel as much as I do. You know, I really don't like actually work that much in the traditional sense. I mean, I'm always working. I'm always brainstorming, creating content, thinking about my business. But I used to be literally chained to a desk for like eight to nine hours a day in my corporate career. And I definitely don't do that anymore.

Katrina Owens (04:47.702)
I probably sit at my desk maybe three to four hours a day on a long day, way less than that on a normal day. So the amount of money or revenue that I make in a month right now, given how much time I don't actually work is substantial. I have to say it out loud because this is the kind of money that would be life-changing for somebody else. I'm so grateful and proud of myself that I have built a business that

achieves that level on a monthly basis. But as someone who's scaling and growing and wants to do more and is so excited to do more, the money needs to be more. The number needs to be bigger. That's just business 101 right now. Because when I do my numbers, I look at my numbers every single week now, snaps for that. I used to be like a

monthly numbers girl, but now I'm like so dedicated to this work. I'm looking at my numbers, how much I spent, how much I earned every single week. It's like my little Saturday morning activity. It's something that again, in the living in balance space, which is the mentorship program that I'm in and I love so much. That's a habit that they've instilled in me that I've, I really only started tracking my money on a weekly basis in July. So that brings me full circle to my point because

July was the month where I was like, okay, something's got to change. What do I need to do differently to hit this revenue goal?

and it really forced me to unpack everything. And that's what I wanna go through with you on this episode. I'm gonna take you through some of the shifts that I made this month, because I think it's really important. And despite the fact that I didn't reach the goal, and I honestly guys, I didn't even come close. Okay, that's the other part I need you to understand. I got 50 % of the goal basically, just shy of 50%. So to say it out loud, like I'm being humbled right now even sharing that.

Katrina Owens (06:53.656)
But I mean, I've always promised to be like totally transparent and I hold myself in integrity and I'm always very truthful. I don't like smoke and mirrors. I don't like to pretend that things work in a way that they don't. So I want to tell you guys the ins and outs of what happened in this last month of me trying to achieve this goal, I implemented and actually the results that I did see because I saw some really substantial results and I know.

based on some of the shifts that I made. If I can continue to make those shifts a part of my daily routine and a part of my daily business habits, I'm gonna achieve that goal. Because here's a question that someone had asked me, I guess it was like a month or two ago now when I shared the school. I'm always talking about it out loud, okay? And the question was, who do you need to become to achieve that?

And I mean, I know like I've rambled about this in so many different ways, but obviously it's a question that I'm always kind of unpacking. Who do I need to become? What do I need to change? What am I like letting slip through the cracks?

So that was the big question at the beginning of the month when I claimed this goal and I was like, I'm doing it. This is the month that I'm doing it. So I'm gonna take you through kind of the business stuff first because obviously being someone in a program called Living in Balance, I don't just focus on implementing changes in my business. I also think that there is a big part of the results we see in our business.

is how we go through our personal life. And if you want to learn more about the mentorship program, you can head to the show notes and I'll include the links. You can learn more about it. And if this is something that really interests you and you would like an introduction to the space, feel free to just send me an email or send me a DM and I can connect to you because I actually mentor in the space now, which is very cool. Something I don't personally celebrate enough.

Katrina Owens (09:07.938)
And I just love introducing more women to this space because it is a very different way of running a business. And it's really created such a beautiful life for myself. So let me take you through what I was doing in my business this month to achieve this revenue goal. And so I guess, you know, if you've listened this far, you're about 10 minutes into this episode. I think I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't tell you what the number actually was. So you can understand.

Like I got to give you some like behind the scenes math, okay? So, and this is just because, hey, you know what? I've given you guys ROI on things before. So I've got to like spill the beans here. I'm not going to try and hide that part. So I am trying to hit $30,000 in a month. That is the revenue goal I've been trying to hit since I reached $20,000 in monthly revenue a year ago. And if you guys have listened,

to previous episodes before, you know that it's not like I have consistently made $20,000 in revenue since last July, okay? It's really been a roller coaster, which I was not prepared for. But now I'm really happy to say that my revenue has stabilized, although not at $20,000 a month. I do hit that occasionally, but what I'm getting used to and what I don't talk about enough is the fact that I ran

So a year ago, when I reached the school for the very first time, I was running a very traditional marketing and public relations agency. So the type of work was very, very different. There was also a lot of overhead when it came to team members, contractors, that sort of thing. And I just did not love that style of business. I didn't want to be an agency owner. I was really good at it. I scaled that thing so fast, but it wasn't bringing me joy and it just wasn't something that I wanted to do.

So this January, 2025 is when I let go of my very last agency client. So I am a full-time personal branding and public relations coach. I don't have any like secret side jobs. I don't have like any other revenue streams. The coaching and consulting that I do is the revenue stream. Okay. It's just that. And that was a really big deal. So to let go of all my agency clients. And if you're familiar with agency work, you know, for me, I was doing monthly social media.

Katrina Owens (11:33.228)
like even some fractional marketing stuff, fractional PR stuff, that is really solid recurring revenue. So my biggest issue when I became a coach was I all of a sudden lost a lot. Well, let's be honest, all of that recurring revenue. Because I didn't have any social media management clients anymore. didn't have...

any PR management clients anymore. So there is a no more monthly recurring revenue. So I effectively started from zero and even just saying it out loud right now, I'm like, my God, that was an act of bravery. I certainly don't give myself enough kudos for that. Seriously. So back in January, I started at zero. And since then, I mean, we're about seven months in, I have been able to pay myself, pay my team.

I obviously make a ton of investments back into my business when it comes to travel and marketing. And obviously, like you've listened to the episode before, if you haven't, not going to talk about it here, but I do have business credit slash business loan that I am using to support this growth right now. So I don't want to make it seem like there's just an endless stream of money flowing in. I mean, kind of like we could look.

at some of the business credit that I have in that way. Maybe that's the key actually. Maybe that is what would help me not carry so much judgment over that little piece. But I'm very lucky to have extra cashflow in my business because of this business credit that I'm really focusing on leveraging right now. So at the beginning of July, I was like, this is it. $30,000 I'm coming for you. I claimed it.

So I basically said to myself, every single day I need to make like money moves. Okay. And so for me, that was a bit challenging because I would say I'm kind of a more passive like sales girl. So I receive a lot of leads through referrals, through social media and my follow-up game, not super strong.

Katrina Owens (13:55.554)
And a couple of months ago, I did implement a system for myself to follow up with one-on-one leads. But my problem is I didn't apply the same approach to people that were interested in my group coaching program. And I mean, I have said this so many times in the last month, but my passion really is my group coaching program, the Fame Ready Entrepreneur program. And there's two reasons why I love it so much. The first one is from a business perspective, it's scalable.

There are about 20 members inside that program right now. That program could scale to 200 or 2000 people. And that's really cool. That is a scalable asset. Even talking to some of the senior mentors in my business mentorship program, they're like, holy shit, like you created like the self-managing business already. And like you did it in seven months, which yeah, we got to soak that in for a sec because that

That program can, you know, I obviously I'm in it every single week. I run weekly group coaching calls in it. I provide all these different resources. I really like love on those clients so much, but it's a toll thing. And then the other income stream that I have are my one-on-one clients, which are obviously at a higher price point. A lot of them do stay on a retainer, but it took me a while to actually get those clients to be on a retainer.

But my problem was that I was just focusing on one-on-one clients when I had this amazing opportunity to really share just how impactful the Fame Ready Entrepreneur Program is. And I would say like every week I have people signing up for more information on the Fame Ready Entrepreneur Program, but I was not doing a good job of following up with the people that I could see were registering for more information or DMing me my many chat automation.

I was just kind of leaving it up for the universe for them to hop in or not. Like I'm like, let them go through the funnel and see what happens. But then I realized that if I was going to really, you know, basically double my monthly revenue, okay, to reach $30,000 a month, I had to take a more active approach in nurturing these leads. So.

Katrina Owens (16:17.822)
What I implemented this month was I basically went through the whole list of all the people that ever registered, anyone that had ever inquired about the program, I made a whole list, just in the notes app in my phone, okay? Nothing serious. I needed to make this as low barrier as possible, but I just made the list of people, and I'm like, okay. First, we're just gonna start by sending some voice notes to see where people are at. I started that at the beginning of July, and at the same time as me doing this outreach, just...

coming from a place of pure curiosity, okay? I wasn't trying to sell on that first one. I was just like, I wonder where these people are at. I wonder why they didn't sign up. Like I was just putting my ego to the side. I'm like, I gotta find out more about these people, what they're really looking for and if I can actually help them because the people in my program get incredible results. And that's something that I will refuse to be quiet about now.

because I used to kind of like shove that part under the rug, but this is actually like the thing I need to be the loudest about. The results, the incredible results that my clients see, not just in media features or the opportunities they receive, but in how they become a different person, okay? And I realized this because one of my clients, this is so cool, one of my clients in the Fame Ready Entrepreneur Program, she is taking her first business trip to New York City,

to watch me speak on stage, but to also network with all of the other 200 plus entrepreneurs that are gonna be in the room. And now she's telling me about how she's planning more and more trips across the globe to do the same thing. And that is not something she ever felt like she had the confidence or the ambition to do before. And thinking about that actually brings tears to my eyes because that's not just like a media feature, you guys. That's someone that is now thinking,

so much bigger about their business. And that is the impact that I have, that my life has on the people that I work with. Okay? So I really had to sit with that and just observe and really receive the sheer impact that I have on people and to not be quiet about it anymore. And so when I started...

Katrina Owens (18:39.406)
coming from that place, it made me feel far more confident about approaching people that have inquired about my programs before but haven't jumped in. Okay? So there was an outreach element there, but then there was also a content element. So one thing that I haven't been amazing at before is selling through Instagram stories. I find it takes a lot of time, like even to record like three, you know,

three minutes worth of Instagram stories. Like to me, that can feel like a lot of work, which seems insane to say it out loud. But one of my really good friends had said to me at one point, Katrina, I don't think it's your email funnels that are like convincing someone to sign up. I think it's seeing you speak to them, whether it's in talking heads or on your stories. And so I held myself accountable to posting Instagram stories every single day. And it's not just like, hey, here's my dog.

or hey, here's what I'm doing in Nashville. But hey, here's the impact that I'm having on my clients. Here is something interesting that I'm seeing in the industry. I just really started to story tell my industry, my work and my clients. And you would not believe the amount of inquiries I received into my business this month. It totally blew off the fricking lid of the months prior. Okay? Like I...

Every single day I was having a new person DMing my many chat automation or asking me for more details on something, signing up for my email list. It was crazy. Like it still is crazy because it's still happening now because obviously once I bring this whole story full circle, you'll realize that I can't stop now. I've found the thing. to me, it's okay. We just got to keep it moving. We got to keep holding the strategy. But

I showed up on my Instagram stories. started talking about things differently. I started talking about my clients more. I started talking about how they got their results. I really just started being open and honest about my process, what it looks like, what you need to do. And it meant becoming a bit more bold and loud in my messaging, which is something I had been very uncomfortable with for a while because I'm not someone who really like describes himself as like a bold and loud.

Katrina Owens (21:06.732)
But apparently like that's how other people are now seeing me. And you know what? I think that's fucking cool. And I'm gonna keep riding that wave because I think now I am really so grounded in this work and my impact that I'm like, Katrina, you are only doing yourself a disservice if you stop being loud about this. So that's where I'm at. So I started posting on stories and honestly like,

my notes app just kept growing because every time someone would DM me asking for more details on something, I would basically like add them to the list and like keep a note about them and where they're at. And what was really cool about this is this also gave me a chance like to really work my follow-up muscle. Okay. Because we cannot expect that someone is just going to buy without being nurtured or building trust. So for me, if

I hadn't heard back from someone, I would follow up with them. Okay, I would ask them, where are you at? What's the hesitation? And I really have to applaud the coaches that helped me really understand that you can ask someone why they're not signing up. And it's actually really important information for you to have. And I would get like a little bit uncomfortable about that part because I'm like, ooh, I don't really like wanna know why, but.

That's like baby business sonar behavior. You've got to know why people are not buying from you. And so for me, that was like the most crucial element because the results by the end of the month, although I didn't hit my $30,000 goal, I still had insane results. Okay. So we'll talk about that in a second. Let's talk about some of the other things that I did in the business.

before we get to like the grand finale, okay? So I had me in the DMs, I had Instagram stories, I also hosted a webinar, which I'm going to really hold myself accountable to hosting one once per month, because what was really cool is I had a lot of people sign up that I actually didn't know. I had about 30 people in total sign up for my webinar. I only promoted it for like a week, okay? So.

Katrina Owens (23:28.0)
If there are people like me out there who think, okay, I gotta like have a full work back plan into the webinar, that's how I used to operate. No, I decided when I was gonna have it, I started promoting it a week in advance because people are last minute anyways. And I just sold that webinar every single day until it launched. And honestly, it was a great, I hosted it live and then people could sign up for the replay.

And it was really great. think I had like 15 people attend live, which is actually like a really big number for me. Typically when I do webinars, the live attendance is much lower. So I was really proud of that too. And I didn't see any immediate conversions from that, but there were quite a few people who signed up for it that I think will eventually become a client.

or at least it nurtured them a little bit more. And I got some really, really great feedback on it, some really amazing comments on what people liked about it too. So that was cool. That webinar, I actually really did a little bit differently. I hosted like a training. So it was originally going to be a training that was only for people inside the Fame Ready Entrepreneur Program. But then I decided to open it up to the public.

And what was really cool is I got to take everyone through this training. So it was a social media PR training. And then towards the end, I had some like live coaching. So for my clients that were inside the Fame Ready Entrepreneur program, they actually had the opportunity to submit their social media profiles for an audit. And so then I got to audit them during the call so people could really see how I...

So you could get a taste for that if you weren't in the program, which was really cool. So you know what? In case you're interested in getting that training, it's called a hidden gem to headlines. I'm going to link it in the show notes because I do think it is a really great one. Even if you're like Katrina, I am buying, I ain't falling for your email funnel. I think you should just watch it for the content because I think for you to understand like what it looks like to create content that will convert, it's pretty powerful stuff. Okay.

Katrina Owens (25:52.142)
So I ran that webinar. I also did a private webinar. So for a membership organization, they paid me to do a webinar for their members. So that was great. That's a revenue stream all on its own. But I also ended up signing a one-on-one client directly from that webinar. So that's a $5,000 client. All I did was host a one-hour webinar on my area of expertise, PR for personal brands.

I curated that presentation for that membership group and lo and behold, it worked. It did what it was supposed to, honestly, because at the end of the day, that's why I do webinars or guest trainings, right? It's so I can open myself up to more clients. So that was a really big win for me, okay? And because I know some of you, my like type A's in the group, my analytical brains, you're probably gonna be trying to do the math during this episode.

the obviously like I'm not going to give all of my revenue details away in this. Like that's not what this is for. But what I want you to know is a lot of my clients are on payment plans. I offer payment plans for everything. I'm a big believer in payment plans just because you know, I love to be able to budget. It does make things more accessible, especially when it's something high ticket. And not only is it great for like the client, but it's also really good for you.

Like if you can get really comfortable on a payment plan, like that's recurring revenue that really makes you feel more comfortable in your business because you know, okay, I have this many clients and they're all on this many, they all have this many months, you know, all that stuff. So obviously I'm not gonna give you all of my revenue details in this, but as I talk you through some of the sales that I did make and you're like, it feels like maybe you've got closer to 30 than you thought.

A lot of these clients that I did secure are on payment plans. actually my sales total is much higher than my revenue, but some of that isn't cash in my bank account right now. Okay. So that's just the caveat. Okay. And then finally, what else did I do? Okay. Yes. At the very end of the month, the like kind of like every single month I like to have like a milestone moment.

Katrina Owens (28:09.41)
And this is where my PR brain comes into effect because every single month I want there to be like an amazing PR opportunity that seals the deal on things. Okay. So an example of this is obviously I spoke at females on fire in Nashville. So I knew that was coming and then something amazing also really happened. I got featured in the Daily Mail. opened that, opened this episode up with that earlier, but that placement actually came out.

while I was in Nashville. It actually came out the day that I was speaking. And this happens to me a lot. And this is like PR in action. And this is when you take all of your PR opportunities and you compound them together to translate into sales. Because let me tell you what happened that week. In that week that I spoke at, Females on Fire was still like really staying true to my...

DM sales, nurturing, sending voice notes. I even started sending video follow ups, which I have to give full kudos to Brittany and John Han from Rich Girl Culture for giving me that little tip. So instead of sending a voice note, just send a quick video. That felt really good for me too, because it actually feels less salesy. Because at that point, I'm just here to connect with that potential client. It does feel salesy when you're sending a voice note, when you're sending a message.

when I send a video, that was how I could really feel like now they're seeing me, the client is seeing my authenticity, they're seeing that I'm here to support them. And lo and behold, last week when I spoke at Females on Fire, held strong to my DM nurturing, was crushing it in my Instagram stories, got featured in the Daily Mail, was also announced at another event that I'm speaking at in the winter time in 2026.

All of that landed me three new women in the Fame Ready Entrepreneur Program in one week. Two in one day. Actually within minutes of each other. It was bonkers. I had never, well, I shouldn't say I'd never experienced that before. I did experience that back in March when I did my launch, my Launch and Learn for K.O. your brand. But that was really powerful. And that's actually what showed me

Katrina Owens (30:29.998)
or reminded me, I should say, of the power of public relations. Because that last minute authority building, like that really was what got these women across the line. Because each and every one of these women that enrolled in the Fame Ready Entrepreneur Program last week said the same thing to me. I asked them, what do you want from this space? Why are you here? They said, I wanna be famous. I wanna feel famous. I want my fame era. So it wasn't about

speaking on stage or landing a certain press feature. It's about this feeling, this vibe, this energy that I know I exude. Last week, I was famous energy all over the place, okay? Speaking in Nashville, wearing sparkly boots, like calling myself the Taylor Swift of public relations, being featured in the Daily Mail. Like, I'm saying it now and I'm like, well, that's a lot. Yeah, it was a lot. And it turned into so much.

And I know that's actually just the beginning because now I know better. Now I will not stop because I actually made this mistake before in my business. And if you do join the fame ready entrepreneur program, I'll leave the link in the show notes. When you go through five weeks, still famous, which is my introductory PR course, that's inside the program. The final module is talking about how to build a profitable personal brand using PR. And so the way that you do this is.

by linking PR to sales. Kind of like how I just talked about, okay? At the very end of my month, the last week of July, I did this whole PR campaign. You guys didn't even really realize it was happening. It just looked like I was having a bunch of fun, but it converted into sales. And this is exactly what had happened last year when I had launched Five Weeks Still Famous for the very first time. That was the very first time I had a $20,000 sales month, like more than a year ago.

was because I had received all of this amazing PR and then I launched a program. And so the same thing kind of happened, although now I wasn't in a launch because the Five Weeks Still Famous is now the fame ready entrepreneur program. So it's evergreen. So you can jump in at any time. But I basically ran this PR campaign last year where

Katrina Owens (32:51.342)
I was flown to New York for an event. I was featured in a publication there. I was featured in a couple articles. I was speaking at a couple smaller events. There was so much that happened that it just perfectly translated into sales. And then that same thing happened last week. But the mistake that I made last year is my nervous system was not equipped to hold all the success that I had. So I reached $20,000 in a month and actually I maintained it for a couple months in a row.

And then it all fell away because I was like, I don't think I can do it again. And my negative self-talk was intense for months. I mean, you can go back and listen to one of the earlier episodes where I dive into all of that, but I really like, for lack of a better phrase, shit the bed for a couple of months, didn't do any PR, was not great on social media. I didn't even know what the fuck I was selling.

So now I know better because now, although I did not reach my $30,000 goal this month, I know that I'm going to get even closer next month. And if I don't hit it next month, that's okay, I'm gonna hit it the next month because I can see myself really building towards that now because I've nailed my sales process, okay? So I took you through all of the things that I've done and I'm just going to continue to hold that.

and to refine and get better, but I'm not going to just stop now, which is what I did a year ago, I just stopped. Okay? But now I also need to tell you about what I did in my lifestyle, because there were some really big changes that I made there too, which I think really supported like the nervous system elements of being able to hold all of this. So I already told you about the weekly money tracking that I was doing, but I also started going to the gym.

And I think I've mentioned this in previous episodes too, but I basically for the past two years have been seeing a personal trainer once per week. And I would do like other random stuff in between, but I was never really consistent. I didn't have a gym membership. I was pretty inconsistent when it came to like actually just like working out. But I knew that it was time that who do I need to become to make $30,000 in a month? I need to be someone who really takes care of her health.

Katrina Owens (35:17.998)
and feel strong and feels like I have the body that can hold a business like the one that I'm building. So I started working out four times a week and I've continued to hold that. I have to be honest and say I wasn't great about it when I was in Nashville. I did slack and you know what, that's okay. I just give myself grace for that. It was busy. The Airbnb said it had a gym. I didn't know where it was.

And I also just wanted to like spend lots of time being really present with the women that I got to spend time with in the Airbnb and all of that. So that's okay. But the first day I was back, it was back to the gym. Second thing I did was spending more time with Gabriel. Okay, because I think we're gonna get engaged soon. He doesn't listen to this podcast, at least as far as I know. So he probably won't.

know that I said that, but like, you know, when you just like have a feeling. We've been together for like six years, OK? Obviously, I've wanted to like be married to him this entire time. We do own our house together. like, you know, having a mortgage with someone is like just as complicated as like, you know, getting married at this point. But it's time and I mean, has him and I have gone through a lot in our relationship together.

And now I just feel like we're like really there. So I can't believe I'm even saying this out loud, but like, I guess that's how manifestation works. So I think it's coming. So I'll keep you guys posted on that one. But I really started to get conscious of how much time I was spending with him. So he works really long days and it's summer. So there's days when he has home from work and all he wants to do is like sit on the balcony.

enjoy a summer evening with the dogs and like have a beer. And I'm like, you know what? I'm going to start doing that with him. And he started being really proactive about making dinners for us more often, or even like on weekends, we would spend more time like going out to eat or going on a date night. And that was really, really intentional on my part because the type of person that I believe earns $30,000 in a month has a really healthy relationship with her partner.

and is building not just an amazing business, but amazing life with somebody. So that was the other thing that I did. And then the third thing that I did was I stopped being a grumpy bitch. Okay. This is something that most of you will not know about me, because I actually don't think it comes through my personality, but I can feel like annoyed, irritable, grumpy, frustrated often.

And I think, I don't know what that is. Sometimes I think I'm just tired. Sometimes I think I let things get to me. So I started to become really conscious of when I was giving off this like grumpy energy. Cause I was kind of like, okay, Katrina, you have a beautiful life. By all means, your days are pretty easy. You get to choose. You always get to choose. So what is the grumpiness?

And I do think that most of the grumpiness and frustration comes from a place of me feeling frustrated that I haven't reached my financial goals yet. But I can't actually feel grumpy or frustrated about that. I mean, we can, but I realized that that exact energy was probably what's blocking me from reaching the goal because I'm making it all about the money and not about what I actually feel. So at this...

with the support of one of my mentors, I just decided, and this was, I have to tell you guys, this probably came like halfway through July. So I can appreciate that for the first two weeks of July, I was trying all these things, but still being kind of a grumpy bitch on top of all of that. But for the last two weeks, I just decided I was gonna wake up every morning and feel really happy and joyful and excited for everything that's coming my way, because the problem is,

I wasn't letting myself be excited for all of these things that were happening. Okay? I was feeling like, oh, I have all these opportunities, but I'm worried about the money and like, I'm nervous that the money won't come. So I'm not even gonna be excited about the fact that I get to go to Nashville and then New York and then Toronto and blah, blah, blah, because, oh, I just don't know if I'm making the right choices. And that my friends is the exact energy that I believe was blocking.

all of the abundance from coming to me. Because I was like, my God, I am living a life that people dream about. I am living the life that all of my clients strive for on some level, but I'm not even being excited about it. I am worried about it. And so I realized I had to stop worrying. I had to just trust that this is exactly what's supposed to be happening and that it is my responsibility to be excited and joyful and present.

And I'm not going to say that it's so easy to like hold those emotions, but for me, once I could like really settle into that, that is when so many opportunities like literally water fall down and they're not stopping. And that's really, really cool. So that's the journey that I've been on this month. $30,000 revenue month. Unfortunately, she ain't here yet.

but I know that she is closer than ever. So let's do another recap, because now here's the thing, you guys, I'm obviously like actively working towards the school every single month. So when I hit it, my God, you guys are gonna be the first to know. And it's coming soon, but only if I can continue to hold all of this amazing progress I've made in my business, but also all of the amazing progress from my personal life. And so as you...

away from this episode, those are the things I want you to remember. What do you have to do? Who do you have to become to hold your next goal? But the second piece of that, how can public relations couple with your sales to actually get you closer to your goals? Because PR is the tactic that converts an already warm audience. It brings new people into your audience. It opens up new revenue streams. And I showed you all of that in this episode.

It's kind of meta, right? Here I am, a PR and personal brand expert, talking about my own goals and then showing you how I used PR to actually finally land them. So cool. So I hope you love this episode. Honestly, I think there was a bit of an energy shift here. Let me know if you felt it, because I know last week I was like kind of all over the place. But I think she's back.
